A Healthy Approach to Work-Life Balance
At Acadia, we have a deep commitment to promoting a healthy sustainable working environment that provides support and assistance to faculty, staff and their families. We recognize the benefits of a healthy and engaged workforce and the important part that well-being plays in our daily lives. By encouraging a greater work-life balance, we aim to reduce the occurrence of stress and illness in the workplace and in turn work towards a more productive and rewarding environment.
Acadia's Athletic Complex offers extensive sports facilities, including Olympic-sized swimming pool, arena, gymnasiums, weight and cardio rooms, and squash and racquetball courts which makes it convenient to fit exercise into your day, and for many employees membership is free*. An extensive schedule of fitness and aquafitness programs are run through the Complex. For schedules and prices please refer to the Acadia Athletic Complex website.
Our idyllic setting in the Annapolis Valley provides an array of indoor and outdoor activities and events that will appeal to all ages and cultures. From health and wellness, to sports and recreation, to art and culture, you will find something of interest in the local vicinity.
*for full-time members of employee groups: AUFA, AUPAT and SEIU (excludes classes and fitness programs)
