Health Spending Account
The Health Spending Account (HSA) with Medavie Blue Cross is an account set up in the eligible employee's name with a pre-determined amount of HSA credits deposited every year on July 1st to use on health-related expenses. Your HSA balance will carry over for one additional year but you will lose the balance if not used within 24 months. You are unable to pre-spend your Health Spending Account. The Health Spending Account can be used for items and services not covered, or not covered in full, under your current health plan, including dental charges. Making a HSA claim?
- All claims must be submitted directly to Medavie Blue Cross
- Claims must be submitted by August 29 for claims incurred in the previous July 1-June 30 period.

Use our Medavie Mobile app to submit your claim right from your smartphone. Take a picture of your receipt(s) and submit – you can do it in under a minute. - Online via eClaims
Use a scan or photo of your receipt(s) and submit through the secure Member Services site. Click the eClaims tab once you're logged in. - By mail
Mail them to your nearest Blue Cross office. Forms are available from your health professional or by downloading them here. - In person at a Quick Pay location
